WORK SMART, NOT HARD

About

Looking to improve your sports performance, need some injury rehabilitation or simply have more fun with your training?

I have successfully helped a spectrum of exercisers and athletes,  my area of expertise is helping mountain bikers. I also have a strong track record in helping a range of sports people.

Whether you’re based in Bristol or Brisbane, I have great face-face and remote options for all ability and fitness levels to help you meet and exceed your goals.

HAPPY, HEALTHY, HIGH PERFORMANCE

The method behind the motion

You’ve tried the ordinary, now try the extraordinary…

NEWTON'S LAWS OF MOTION

The name and logo are inspired by Newton’s Laws of Motion, which are used to describe the relationship between an object and the forces acting on it. These are applied and exploited to maximise the effectiveness of my training solutions.

MORE THAN JUST NUMBERS

Physics and numbers are great but people aren’t machines, a key part of motion is momentum be this physical and psychological. I take an athlete focused approach, balancing the data and athlete enjoyment to create happy, healthy, high performing people.

QUALITY OVER QUANTITY

A core principle of my training methods and my business. I limit the number of people I work with both in-person and remotely to ensure I deliver a consistent high quality service to everyone.

COACHING PHILOSOPHY

How we roll

To perform your best you need to be your best, I deliver an eclectic service that is athlete focused. We don’t chase medals, we chase performance as high performance is what gets you to your goal and beyond. I work with people in a two-way relationship, aiming to educate and empower. Building skills, knowledge and confidence through sport can be used to improve other aspects of life as well.

Health and happiness are the foundations of my training plans, underpinned by strength training which is a key rung on the ladder to success for almost every goal.

NOT JUST A PRETTY FACE

The motion man

First qualifying as a Personal Trainer in 2008, I then continued to follow my passion for sport and exercise to achieve a First Class degree in Applied Sports Science and Coaching. This passion is still strong, as I continue to gain further qualifications to improve myself as a coach. From understanding the menstrual cycle in female high performance through to MTB skills coaching and more.

For a period I focused on my athletic career and ended up working in Engineering to fund this. During this period I learnt a lot about competing in elite sport and engineering, giving me a unique understanding of biomechanics and sports equipment, as well as how to be successful in high level competition.

I still love racing and will never stop, my current focus is on racing Elite XC MTB as well as Enduro in the off season. So you will probably see me at races both on the tracking racing and off track and supporting athletes. As well as hosting The A Line Podcast and commentating on live streams of races.
